Casting Call for Extras

We been asked to share this. In past we had a few student take part on movie and TV work as extras. Nothing major but an experience nonetheless and they sometimes need people with martial arts experience. Your Taekwondo training might have other uses.

Want to get paid as a film and TV extra in London and the surrounding areas?

Uni-versalEXTRAS are holding open registration days in Kingston and Watford for people to register as extras. It is completely free to attend and all work obtained is paid. Based at Pinewood Film Studios, our recent credits include Solo: A Star Wars Story, Fantastic Beasts and Black Mirror.

Registration Day in Kingston on Friday 19th October 2018!
Location: Richard Mayo Centre, Eden Street, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1HZ
Timings: arrive at any time between 10am and 4pm

What do you need to do?

  1. Visit our website to Register as an Extra
  2. Follow the registration steps (taking care to ensure that all the information provided is correct) – STOP at the photo stage
  3. Attend the event at any time between 10am and 4pm to have your photos taken and to get a FREE 1 Year Listing with Uni-versalEXTRAS!

What happens at the Registration Day?
We will take your photos so that we can cast you in suitable roles as an extra for film & TV productions in your local area.

Fighting Spirit Film Festival

A friend of the NLTKD club has asked us to help promote the 2nd Fighting Spirit Film Festival. This is an event features, short films, and demonstrations from various martial arts clubs.  Also the event is being held in East London so relatively local to many of our members. we know of many students who have an interest in film making and this event is a chance to meet like minded people.

GTI Summer Camp 2017

The North London Taekwondo are part of the Global Tae Kwon-Do International (GTI). The GTI provides, tournaments, International competition opportunities, Black belt grading, seminars and much more for the NLTKD club members to enjoy as part of their memberships of the NLTKD 

The GTI are hosting a summer camp from July 22 2017. last year 3 NLTKD students attended and found it good fun. lots of details are on the Facebook even site at

All GTI members are welcome at our 2017 Summer Camp!

This year’s summer camp will take place at the same location as last year’s. The format will be similar but with a bit more downtime. The schedule is still to be confirmed but last year’s included flexible strength, training, boxing, ringcraft, TKD drills, yoga, crossfit, kickboxing and psychology of winning.

Overnight spaces are limited to about 20 people and (Saturday) day passes will be available.

The cost for two nights, various coaching, Saturday breakfast/lunch and Sunday breakfast will be £90. Please make payment to Squad Coach Jasper Chow: either by bringing £50 deposit to the GTI 100 Rounds of Sparring event on 25th June. Or by arranging payment with him directly (or via your instructor).

Casting Call for extras

Lovely to talk to you, thank you for offering to help us!

Below is all the info you should need for the extra roles, if there are any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me!

We are looking for MEN & WOMEN 17 years old and over (There will be 50 people per sport in the ad) Must be based in London!

You must be super fit and good at Taekwondo It’s all about the passion, vigor & determination you have when training!

If you are selected to take part in the shoot you will be paid: £100 per day

Shoot dates: Rehearsals: 11th, 12th & 16th August (one day per person) Shoot days: 17th, 18th & 19th August (one to two days per person) In London

This job is on a very tight scheduled therefore if you are interested and definitely free for dates then please do send us a picture asap. There are a lot of extras needed for this job so the chances of being chosen are quite high!

NLTKD goes to ComicCon @ East London Excel 2013

The NLTKD instructor and students visited the London Comic Con. http://www.mcmcomiccon.com/london/ Different NLTKD students have been going to this bi-annual event on their own steam but this year we decided to go as a group. We had 2 group meet up at both Tottenham hale station and Stratford station. We met on the platform at the destination train station and went in as a group. Maybe next year we all go together in taekwondo costumes ??
