Safety Equipment

Taekwondo is a contact sport and all students prior to sparring must be wearing the proper safety equipment.

SEMI CONTACT SAFETY FEET must be of the boot style and cover the toes	SHIN GUARD must be soft material and not football type shin guards.
SEMI CONTACT SAFETY HANDS the fingers may or may not be fully enclosed. No weighted boxing gloves	HEAD GUARD which must also protect top of skull must be dipped foam or leather with no hard face bars or grills.

GROIN GUARD is compulsory for males at competition and therefore should have one.
MOUTH GUARD is advisable but not compulsory unless for a medical reason.
NB. If Glasses are worn, they must be of an approved safety type. No jewellery must be worn including watches, rings, necklaces, metal hair bands or grips or any type of piercings. If a ring cannot be taken off it should be taped over.
